Happy Garden of Practitioners

Named Ngakchang Gatshal by Lama Pema Dorje Rinpoche, the Happy Garden of Practitioners is an unaffiliated private residence for  Buddhist practitioners in Oakland.  Small group practices are held in the practice space according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, on the full and new moons and on the 10th and 25th day of the month. In addition, we hold larger formal group practices once or twice a month on weekends. We host visiting teachers from time to time, mainly from the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Drop us a line before you come, so we have everything available you will need to have a satisfying practice experience.

Mayum Mountain has two major publications: Buddhist young adult novels Excavating Pema Ozer and The Buddha of Lightning Peak by our director, Lopon Yudron. We hope to release the third in her four-part series,  If I Livelater this year. You can read more about Wangmo’s writing for youth at her website, here. She has ongoing vlog primarily for the benefit of young adults. We also make practice texts to support the people who practice together at the Happy Garden. We have also published a limited-edition collection of common Nyingma prayers that we call Companion Volume.
